JAM 2024 Syllabus
JAM stands for the Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. It is a test that is used to get into advanced studies in science and math at several Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and other schools. For the 2024 term, the JAM schedule is usually the same as the college homework that is related to the test topics.
1. Mathematics (MA)

- Classical Mechanics: Newtonian Mechanics, Lagrangian Mechanics, Hamiltonian Mechanics.
- Electrodynamics: Electrostatics, Magnetostatics, Electromagnetic Waves, Circuits.
- Quantum Mechanics: Schrödinger Equation, Quantum States, Operators.
- Thermodynamics and Statistical Mechanics: Laws of Thermodynamics, Kinetic Theory, Partition Functions.
- Optics: Wave Optics, Geometric Optics, Interference, Diffraction.
3. Chemistry (CY)
- Physical Chemistry: Thermodynamics, Quantum Chemistry, Chemical Kinetics, Surface Chemistry.
- Inorganic Chemistry: Periodic Table, Coordination Chemistry, Organometallic Chemistry.
- Organic Chemistry: Reaction Mechanisms, Stereochemistry, Organic Synthesis, Functional Groups.
4. Biological Sciences (BT)
- Cell Biology: Cell Structure, Cellular Processes, Cell Communication.
- Genetics and Evolution: Mendelian Genetics, Molecular Genetics, Evolutionary Theory.
- Ecology and Environment: Ecosystems, Environmental Biology, Biodiversity.
- Biochemistry: Enzyme Function, Metabolism, Biomolecules.
5. Economics (EN)
- Microeconomics: Demand and Supply, Market Equilibrium, Consumer Behavior.
- Macroeconomics: National Income Accounting, Inflation, Monetary Policy.
- Mathematical Economics: Optimization, Linear Programming.
- Statistics: Probability, Statistical Inference, Regression Analysis.
6. Geology (GG)
- General Geology: Earth Materials, Plate Tectonics, Geological Processes.
- Mineralogy: Mineral Properties, Identification, Classification.
- Paleontology: Fossils, Evolutionary Biology, Geological Time Scale.
- Structural Geology: Deformation, Geological Structures, Mapping Techniques.
