STIPEND & REMUNERATION

In accordance with the regulations set out by the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), the individual who is chosen for the position of Apprentice Development Officer will receive a stipend equal to a predetermined sum of money each month during the apprenticeship period. A stipend equal to the minimum of the basic pay and the dearness allowance thereon on the scale of pay applicable to Development Officers as on the date of commencement of the apprenticeship will be paid to Apprentice Development Officers who are not from the LIC Employee Category. This stipend will be paid to Apprentice Development Officers who are not from the LIC Employee Category. Except in the case of applicants chosen from the LIC Employee Category, the amount of the stipend will be roughly 51,500 rupees (or dollars) per month at the current time. According to the regulations that are currently in place, a Probationary Development Officer working at a particular Headquarter in the region will be placed on a pay scale that ranges from 35,650-2200(2) to 40,050-2595(2) to 45,240-2645(17) to 90,205, in addition to receiving allowances and other benefits. Basic compensation for a Probationary Development Officer is 35650/- per month.

The total emoluments will include the House Rent Allowance and the City Compensatory Allowance, if applicable and based on the classification of the city where the position is located. This will be the minimum amount of the scale. In a city with a ‘A’ Class designation, it will cost around 56000/-.

Other benefits include a gratuity, a defined contribution pension scheme, paid leave, medical benefits, group insurance, group personal accident insurance, vehicle advance (2-wheeler/4-wheeler), reimbursement towards the cost of a briefcase or leather bag, mobile handset, and other items as specified by the rules. After a certain amount of time in service, the Development officer may also become qualified for enticing incentives that are directly tied to their success.

PROBATION

If an Apprentice Development Officer has a successful completion of their apprenticeship and, in the judgement of the Recruiting Authority, is appropriate for appointment to the service of the Corporation, then the Apprentice Development Officer may be appointed as a Probationary Development Officer. The probationary term will be for one year, with the possibility of being extended to a total of two years. An evaluation of the candidate’s previous work will determine whether or not they are appointed to the position of Development officer.

SELECTION PROCEDURE

The selection of applicants will be based on their performance in online examinations, which will be followed by an interview with those candidates who have been deemed successful in the online tests, as well as a subsequent pre-recruitment medical examination.
